Narrative in Business

Training and development using narrative is more easily grasped and better remembered than policy manuals and management directives.

Karen-Eve Bayne has the qualifications and international business experience to support the goals of employers and employees. Her training sessions are also motivation sessions.

Course participants achieve learning objectives through exercises in narrative, facilitated by Karen-Eve.

Narrative (story) is both subtle and powerful. People who tell or hear narrative are using metaphor - a safe context in which to explore or express difficult truths and issues.

Considerable science lies behind the power of story: somewhere between the technique used for hypnotism and sheer pleasure! The core of it is that imagery (metaphor) engages our brains in a relaxed, receptive state and is easily remembered.

Your organization can benefit from Karen-Eve's workshops:

Just a thought... the Narrative Approach is known by many names in the academic and business worlds. IBM calls it narrative management. David Armstrong and Tom Peters call it MBSA - management by storying around. World Bank refers to knowledge management. And Joseph Campbell named it as Mythology and Meaning. You might know it as storytelling and you've probably done it quite naturally since before you were an adult. You do it every time there's a conversation that starts "This amazing thing happened..."

Stories get told in your organisation anyway. In the washrooms, around the water jar... What kinds of story do you think people tell now? Remember - these are the words and phrases that influence attitudes, no matter what... So, what kind of story would you like to be in circulation?

A narrative in business workshop with Karen-Eve will influence the focus and motivation of your organizaton. You get the keys to the castle. The rest is up to you.
